The Osram QUICKTRONIC PROFESSIONAL QTP-T/E is an electronic ballast for TC-D, TC-T, and TC-DEL/TEL compact fluorescent lamps. One ballast covers either one 26–42W lamp or two 26W lamps. Service life up to 60,000 hours and energy efficiency class A2 BAT — significantly superior to standard technology (CCG).

Compatibility and installation

Suitable for: TC-D, TC-T, TC-DEL, and TC-TEL compact fluorescent lamps with wattages of 26W, 32W, and 42W. The ballast automatically detects the lamp and adjusts the operating voltage to optimal levels. One ballast can be connected to either one 26–42W lamp or two 26W lamps in parallel.

Dimming: this model is not dimmable — this is a fixed-output version. For dimmable systems, you need a ballast from the QTP-DIM or QTi-DIM series.

Installation checklist:

  1. Ensure the lamp wattage (26/32/42W) is within the ballast's load range.
  2. Check the lamp base type — TC-D and TC-T (2-pin) differ from TC-DEL and TC-TEL (4-pin).
  3. Use the wiring diagrams recommended by Osram when connecting two 26W lamps in parallel.
  4. Always have the installation performed by a qualified electrician.

Which lamps is this ballast compatible with?

Suitable for TC-D, TC-T, TC-DEL, and TC-TEL plug-in fluorescent lamps with power ratings of 26W, 32W, and 42W. A single ballast can operate either one 26–42W lamp or two 26W lamps in parallel. Verify the lamp base type before ordering — TC-D/T is 2-pin, TC-DEL/TEL is 4-pin.

Can an old ballast be replaced with this?

Yes — an electronic ballast replaces the traditional magnetic ballast and starter. Benefits: the lamp lights up immediately without flickering, energy consumption decreases by 20–25%, and the lamp's service life increases by up to 50%. Installation requires a wiring modification, so always leave it to an electrician.

Is the ballast dimmable?

No. The QTP series is a constant-power version. If you want a dimmable system, you need an Osram QTi-DIM or QTP-DIM series ballast and a compatible DALI or 1–10V dimmer.

How long does the ballast last?

The typical service life is 60,000 hours under nominal conditions — about 6–8 years in continuous use or 15–20 years in office use (12 h/day). Energy class A2 BAT indicates very low losses, and the operating temperature range of –20…+50 °C also covers colder sites such as warehouses.
