The Ledvance Surface Slim SQ 200 is a durable and energy-efficient LED wall light for indoor and outdoor use. Its polycarbonate construction and IK10 impact resistance make it an excellent choice for corridors, stairwells, entrances, and demanding environments. Motion and twilight sensor

The luminaire has a built-in sensor that combines motion detection and a twilight switch. The light turns on when the sensor detects movement and automatically turns off after a moment once the movement stops. The twilight detection prevents the light from turning on unnecessarily in daylight. This is an energy-efficient solution for corridors, stairwells, and entrances.

Durable construction — for indoor and outdoor use

The luminaire's housing and diffuser are made of UV-protected polycarbonate, and the impact resistance class is IK10 — the highest commonly used class. IP65 protection withstands dust and water jets, making the luminaire suitable for both indoor and outdoor walls: corridors, stairwells, entrances, warehouses, and damp areas.

Tool-free installation

The luminaire has spring terminals, which allow for quick and tool-free connection of electrical wires. Mounting screws and plugs are included in the package. Electrical connections may only be performed by a qualified electrician.

The LED light source is fixed

The LED part of the luminaire cannot be replaced separately — the entire luminaire is a single, integrated unit. This is typical for modern LED luminaires. The lifespan is 50,000 hours, which corresponds to several years of normal use.

Energy saving

With a power of 10 W, the luminaire produces 1050 lm of light (105 lm/W). This means up to 50% energy savings compared to traditional fluorescent luminaires. The motion and twilight sensor further increases savings, as the light only stays on when needed.

Is the Surface Slim light suitable for both indoor and outdoor use?

Yes. The luminaire has an IP65 protection rating, which means it is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Typical applications include corridors, stairwells, entrances, warehouses, garages and wet rooms. The UV-protected polycarbonate construction and IK10 impact resistance ensure a long service life even in demanding conditions and on exterior walls.

How do a light's motion and twilight sensor work?

The luminaire has a built-in sensor that combines two functions:

  • Motion detection: the light turns on automatically when the sensor detects motion and turns off after a short delay once motion ceases
  • Dusk detection: the light only turns on in dim light — in daylight, the sensor keeps the light off even if there is motion

This combination saves energy because the light is only on when it is truly needed. This is particularly useful in corridors, stairwells, and entrances.

Can the LED part of the luminaire be replaced?

No, you cannot. The LED light source of the Surface Slim luminaire is an integral part of the luminaire and cannot be replaced separately like a traditional bulb. The entire luminaire is one integrated unit.

How much energy does Surface Slim save compared to a fluorescent light?
